Sophia is a rising senior at Ursinus College outside of Philadelphia. She is pursuing a B.A. in Peace and Social Justice with a focus in public policy, a combination of politics, sociology, and environmental studies courses. She will also graduate with minors in Spanish and Politics. As a participant in the Bonner Leader Program, a national leadership and social justice organization, she has directed an after-school tutoring program for at-risk youth. Through her studies and professional life, Sophia has experience in a variety of policy research, such as the Affordable Care Act, the Common Core State Standards, and the science and politics of GMO’s. She deeply values interdisciplinary approaches to addressing any type of social issue, as each issue effects and is effected by the larger community.
Since then he has had a private practice in South Florida, and is very busy both surgically and in consultation.
He believe patients deserve the best, most modern, technologically advanced and compassionate care, with the least risks.
Dr. Selby is a family physician, clinical epidemiologist, and health services researcher, Dr. Selby has more than 35 years of experience in patient care, research, and administration. He is responsible for identifying strategic issues and opportunities for PCORI and implementing and administering programs authorized by the PCORI Board of Governors.
Dr. Selby joined PCORI from Kaiser Permanente, Northern California, where he was Director of the Division of Research for 13 years and oversaw a department of more than 50 investigators and 500 research staff members working on more than 250 ongoing studies. He was with Kaiser Permanente for 27 years. An accomplished researcher, Dr. Selby has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and continues to conduct research, primarily in the areas of diabetes outcomes and quality improvement. Dr. Selby was elected to membership in the Institute of Medicine in 2009 and was a member of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality study section for Health Care Quality and Effectiveness from 1999 to 2003.
Amy is an Acupuncture Physician in the state of Florida where she works in an integrative medicine practice. She has studied abroad in Yunnan China under some of the nations top doctors. In addition she has extensive training in Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture, Reiki, personal training and as a labor and delivery doula. Her experience as a NCAA Champion in field hockey influences how she approaches her personal and professional life- Go big or go home!
Tyrus Jackson grew up in Washington, DC before going to Rutgers University, where he is majoring in Health Administration and Political Science. He is an active member in Rutgers student government and Student Life department. Mr. Jackson hopes to make this country healthier through his strong passion for government and politics.
Zak Hines is a rising senior at Boston College. He has spent the last 10 years working and volunteering as a counselor, mentor, and advocate for Families of Autistic Children in Tidewater (FACT), a local Virginia Beach non-profit that assists children with autism in their families through community outreach and fundraising. In his spare time, Zak plays for the club baseball team at Boston College and volunteers as an assistant coach with his youngest brother Jonny’s AAU baseball team.
