Sophia is a rising senior at Ursinus College outside of Philadelphia. She is pursuing a B.A. in Peace and Social Justice with a focus in public policy, a combination of politics, sociology, and environmental studies courses. She will also graduate with minors in Spanish and Politics. As a participant in the Bonner Leader Program, a national leadership and social justice organization, she has directed an after-school tutoring program for at-risk youth. Through her studies and professional life, Sophia has experience in a variety of policy research, such as the Affordable Care Act, the Common Core State Standards, and the science and politics of GMO’s. She deeply values interdisciplinary approaches to addressing any type of social issue, as each issue effects and is effected by the larger community.
