Father’s Day is Sunday, June 17. But if you live in or around Albany, GA or Orlando, FL, you can give the man in your life perhaps the best gift of all the day before Father’s Day: the gift of health.
The goal of both of these events is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease and injury among men and boys.
Details below.
On Saturday, June 16, the 16th annual Black Men’s Health and Wellness Expo will be taking place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The Expo, which runs from 8am to 2pm, features a variety of free education programs and health screenings for prostate cancer, diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, HIV, kidney disease, stomach ulcers, oral cancer, and lung function. A few more details on the Expo here here.
Also on Saturday, Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA is putting on its annual Men’s Health Conference from 8am to 1pm. The conference, located at the Phoebe HealthWorks at 311 W.
